The Daily Grind: What’s the most heroic moment you’ve seen in an MMO?

Everything old is... well, it's actually still old.

MMOs are video games. You are not going to save people’s lives most of the time, and even if you do it’s going to be by being a compassionate voice when one is needed. And yet there are still moments wherein someone behaves heroically. The tank who takes on both targets in a raid even though she can’t hold them for long because she’s counting on the group downing the boss before she dies. The low-level player drawing threat to keep someone from dying. The non-healer with a resurrection spell dropping everything to get people back on their feet in a difficult fight. You get the idea.

Sure, it’s only heroic in-context, and in a larger scope it’s mostly just saving you a little bit of time and effort. But it’s still notable and impressive, and that’s what matters most. So what’s the most heroic moment you’ve seen in an MMO? What stands out as a time when someone went above and beyond as a player and inspired you with an act of in-game heroism?

Every morning, the Massively Overpowered writers team up with mascot Mo to ask MMORPG players pointed questions about the massively multiplayer online roleplaying genre. Grab a mug of your preferred beverage and take a stab at answering the question posed in today’s Daily Grind!
