With titles like Genshin Impact and Tower of Fantasy making inroads with the online RPG genre, it’s probably best that we had a discussion about everyone’s favorite word: Captcha. Wait, no, I meant “gacha.” Two different things.

Both of the aforementioned titles utilize gacha mechanics to tease players with elite characters and a “gotta collect ’em all” aura. With the randomized nature — not to mention slim odds — of getting the characters that you want to play, there’s a strong temptation to break out the wallet to move things along.

Every morning, the Massively Overpowered writers team up with mascot Mo to ask MMORPG players pointed questions about the massively multiplayer online roleplaying genre. Grab a mug of your preferred beverage and take a stab at answering the question posed in today’s Daily Grind!
