FLY!

So as anyone who knows about my history in writing about MMOs will probably either already know or be unsurprised to learn, I bought City of Heroes right at launch. And I hated it. I had no fun, found the game impenetrable and uncomfortable, and gave it about three months before leaving. No, really. It took a couple more years before I tried it again and… still bounced off. But then a few months later I went back in and really connected with it. It took me a little while to really love the game.

There are, of course, MMOs I played from launch and loved right out of the gate, but there are also games that took me a while to really connect with. So what MMO has taken the longest for you to “click” with the game? What MMOs didn’t really sing for you the first time or even the third or fourth or fifth time, but eventually did?

Every morning, the Massively Overpowered writers team up with mascot Mo to ask MMORPG players pointed questions about the massively multiplayer online roleplaying genre. Grab a mug of your preferred beverage and take a stab at answering the question posed in today’s Daily Grind!
