The Daily Grind: How extensively do you mod your UI in MMOs?

There are a couple of subjects I will gush about forever until someone kindly tells me to shush, and one of those is mods – especially for my favorite games, and including MMOs. And when MOP’s Chris mentioning modding a certain MMO a while back, I smothered him with suggestions. Sorry Chris!

But in our conversation, I realized that I don’t mod quite as much as I used to. In some single-player games, I don’t rest until I’ve implemented my very own total conversion and bashed every conflict into submission. And in some MMOs, I used to spend more time customizing than actually playing, altering every single pixel to my taste. But lately, I’ve been trimming down my mods lists. Every mod that goes in is a mod that needs setting up and troubleshooting, after all, and I don’t always want to devote my playtime to that, especially when the MMO is fun. I’ve definitely downgraded from “how does your game even run all that” to “10-to-20 plugins tops.”

Every morning, the Massively Overpowered writers team up with mascot Mo to ask MMORPG players pointed questions about the massively multiplayer online roleplaying genre. Grab a mug of your preferred beverage and take a stab at answering the question posed in today’s Daily Grind!
