New World’s latest patch makes adjustments to golden scarab crafts and winter event token earnings

This week’s patch to New World is making only a pair of adjustments for the most part, but those adjustments will likely have a big impact for those who are chasing winter tokens in the ongoing holiday event or pursuing golden scarab crafts.

On the latter point, golden scarab crafts will no longer require a chromatic seal but will require three golden scarabs (instead of one) and a matrix that matches the attempted craft. The patch has also lowered the material requirements to make prismatic blocks and blessed rivets.

As for the winter event, token earnings from the Winter Warrior have seen several updates: Players will now get one hailspike from the boss and be capped to a maximum of three per day, while the hailspikes will now convert into three premium tokens instead of 10 normal tokens. These adjustments are intended to reduce the need to farm the boss fight, and by at least one player’s reckoning, that will certainly be the case.

The patch otherwise applies a list of bug fixes and engages a new set of cosmetic Twitch Drops, but for the most part it’s focused on two very specific activities.
