With the longest days of the year upon us here in the northern hemisphere, it seems proper and right to celebrate the sun’s bounty with a bit of flame of our own in return. To help in this regard is World of Warcraft, which kicks off this year’s Midsummer Fire Festival today.

The festival, which continues through July 5th, mostly takes place in the capital cities and challenges players to fight an event boss and complete daily quests. Blizzard said that it’s “increased drop rates significantly” for the first holiday boss killed per account, with loot insurance if you don’t get a good item.

New this year for Dragonflight is a colorful Cliffside Wylderdrake armor skin. And yes, even Cataclysm Classic gets its own version of the festival for the same duration. If you’re looking for a festival guide, Wowhead has you covered.
