Remember when Greg “Ghostcrawler” Street argued in favor of slower leveling in MMOs? Well, Tarisland is doing the total opposite of that: It’s starting an event that rewards players for blitzing through its 40 levels as fast as possible.
From now until September 19th, players are being challenged to push through the MMORPG’s first 40 levels in the shortest time, while the top three speedrunners will have to share a video of their leveling process so Tencent can highlight “how easy it is to level up and gear up their alt characters fast in this version.”
Naturally those top three will receive rewards like unique titles, achromatic cyrstals, and other in-game rewards, while crystals and in-game goodies will also be handed out for those who rank lower on the speed charts. As for signing up for this event, it’s literally as simple as making an alternate character during the alloted time frame, so if this sort of race appeals to you, then you’d better start your engines now.
