It’s now been about three weeks since the release of Aion’s massive, game-world-altering Awakened Legacy update, which is now live in both the NA and EU versions of the game, and while fan reaction has been somewhat mixed — as is bound to be the case when entire swaths of a game’s world are outright destroyed — the NCsoft team is pressing forward with a new, very special installment of The Daeva’s Tavern. In order to give players a look at the team’s philosophy with update 6.0 — as well as an idea of what they can expect for the future of Aion post-Awakened Legacy — the European Aion team reached out to the source: Chief Content Designer Woo-young Choi.

In the video, Choi discusses the major changes that hit Aion with the release of Awakened Legacy and talks about PvP and siege battles in the new Lakrum zone. High-level players will also be interested to hear about the “entirely new endgame system” coming with the transformation update, which will give max-level players the opportunity to “[become] an Empyrean Lord.” Choi also talks a bit about the challenge of reworking the game’s currency system to ensure that currency inflation doesn’t leave new and returning players aren’t irrevocably behind the curve. You can hear (or read, if you don’t speak Korean) all the details from Choi in the full video just below.
