WRUP: This post was not written by a neural network edition

It goes clicky.

Well, folks, I’m sorry. I strongly hinted in the last intro that the next installment of What Are You Playing would be written by a neural network. (If you missed that hint, go back and double-check the intro; I might have made it too obvious.) But after feeding all of the previous installments of this column into a network, the result it gave us was not an intro but a heartfelt evaluation of my failings as a human being and a humorist.

Despite being designed to treat the input dispassionately, it turns out that it took a hard look at the unstructured nonsense and asked whom we were doing this for. And to be honest, the network raised some really good points. Why am I doing this? How the heck am I going to get paid with this crap? Who is being impressed by it?

So, from now on, please enjoy a very sober and much more responsible set of What Are You Playing introductions. We’re sure you’ll enjoy our new format just as much as we enjoy using the royal “we” without warning mid-paragraph.

Bonus question: What’s your favorite kind of sandwich?

Brianna Royce (@nbrianna, blog): Wellll! I’m still in Star Wars Galaxies Legends, but I also sorta got back into Trove this weekend, and I installed Project Gorgon back on my new machine, so maybe I’ll be heading into there this weekend. We will see!

Sammich? Gourmet grilled cheese all the way. Maybe with some bacon if we’re being really decadent.

Chris Neal (@wolfyseyes, blog): Mostly focusing on The Elder Scrolls Online once again, though if payment stuff comes through then I might also be dipping in to Anthem at some point as well.

My favorite sandwich type is pretty simple: a hot pastrami with melted provolone and spicy mustard. But you gotta pile on the pastrami, otherwise it ain’t proper.

Eliot Lefebvre (@Eliot_Lefebvre, blog): Between my continued prep work for Final Fantasy XIV’s next expansion and playing Anthem to form my first impressions, I’ll be pretty well full up with stuff to do for the weekend.

My favorite sandwich is now, sadly, restricted to my memory; a restaurant near home used to serve a delicious sandwich with turkey, apple preserves, and brie that was to die for. I also have a deep affection for cheeseburger grinders, which are more “sandwich” than “burger” by the wholly unscientific metric I use.

Justin Olivetti (@Sypster, blog): I’m all about Standing Stone Games’ library these days, so you’ll find me soloing on my Artificer in Dungeons & Dragons Online (got to clear up them lowbie quests!) and maybe leveling up my progression server Captain on Lord of the Rings Online.

Your turn!
