So here’s a fun Daily Grind we’ve been doing for the last few years, and it seems fitting to bring it back around today, does it not? And extra fitting to run this one in 2020, a year when COVID literally drove more people than ever into MMORPGs and online video games, and it wasn’t just because of boredom or excess time – it was also because online games are and have always been havens for socializing and comfort and cameraderie.

As we’ve noted in the past, most MMOs have toxic pockets living alongside the kinds of gamers who people who help newbies and run charity events and put on concerts and hold memorials and create the moments that we flag for warm fuzzies posts. And it’s really obvious which type of gamer is doing the most good for the games and giving them the reputations that drive new player acquisition and retention and conversion.
