The Daily Grind: What MMO made a terrible first impression with you?

Lot of oh no, but maybe that's to be expected.

One of the reasons that I really hold off from participating in most early access and beta rounds these days is that there really is only one chance for an MMORPG to make a good first impression — and I’d prefer that it would bring its absolute best to the table instead of being a janky mess of ideas.

I was thinking of this when I jumped into the early access of Book of Travels recently. There were many things that I liked, but ultimately I was underwhelmed with the experience and wondering if it would’ve been better had I waited until a full-featured launch.

So today’s topic is simply to ask what MMO made a terrible (or underwhelming) first impression with you — and did you ever give it a second chance?

Every morning, the Massively Overpowered writers team up with mascot Mo to ask MMORPG players pointed questions about the massively multiplayer online roleplaying genre. Grab a mug of your preferred beverage and take a stab at answering the question posed in today’s Daily Grind!
