Finding player-written guides explaining how a given system works in an MMO or how to do a particularly obscure quest has been a part of MMOs as long as we’ve had an internet to go alongside them. So, you know, forever. The problem is that not all information is easily searchable or available from the same repositories, and when you’re dealing with a genre that’s been around for 25 years there’s going to be some issues along the way.

Maybe you’re searching for guides for an older game, perhaps one that’s even changed more since it was a going concern, and now guides are outdated and relatively useless. Maybe the game is so new that there are no guides… or maybe just no one cares to write them in the first place. Or perhaps you find plenty of guides that all tell you different things. Or the guides are all in Discord channels. Or they’re not in a language you can read, or… look, the point is that there are a lot of ways that your search for player knowledge can go wrong. The question is, what MMO have you struggled the most to find guides for?

Every morning, the Massively Overpowered writers team up with mascot Mo to ask MMORPG players pointed questions about the massively multiplayer online roleplaying genre. Grab a mug of your preferred beverage and take a stab at answering the question posed in today’s Daily Grind!
