It hasn’t even been a full year since the real-time strategy title Minecraft Legends released on multiple platforms, but unfortunately for fans of the game, last week saw the multiplayer title get its final piece of content before entering maintenance mode.
Developers Blackbird Interactive and Mojang Studios didn’t give any clear information about the decision, stating in the announcement that the companies would simply step back from development of new updates, focusing instead on technical support and keeping the game’s servers running, all while promising that no features were being removed and that PvP and co-op gameplay would remain available.
As for the final update, that introduced a new Snow vs. Snouts lost legend challenge that lets players use a new redstone-powered wrist launcher that boasts a faster cooldown and deconstruction rate to destroy piglin bases from afar, though the major wrinkle of this mode is that players can’t control units or build structures.
“Thank you for following along this heroic journey and helping us make Minecraft Legends the game it is today,” the post closes. “Keep your banners raised because the Overworld will always need a hero! ”
