The Daily Grind: What’s the fastest you’ve ever nope’d out of an MMO?

Last weekend, I carved out some time to check out the launch of Tencent’s Tarisland. I’ve been mildly interested in this WoW clone ever since I started to hear some good word-of-mouth, so I did the “MMO tourist” thing and popped in to satisfy my curiosity…

…and popped right out within the first hour. It was just an awful experience. The opening movie kept looping and wouldn’t progress until I shut down the game, the character creator was pitiful, and the tutorial felt so janky and mobile game-like that every part of me was screaming to shut this abomination off and return to a good game.

I’m curious if any of you have had that experience with other MMOs that repel you from the get-go. What’s the fastest you’ve ever nope’d out of an MMO that you were trying for the first time?

Every morning, the Massively Overpowered writers team up with mascot Mo to ask MMORPG players pointed questions about the massively multiplayer online roleplaying genre. Grab a mug of your preferred beverage and take a stab at answering the question posed in today’s Daily Grind!
