Back in the middle of June, we learned that World of Warcraft general manager John Hight was stepping down from his position in pursuit of “new opportunities and challenges.” It would appear that search didn’t take long, as Hasbro has announced that he’ll be joining the company at the executive level.

Hight has been named president of Wizards of the Coast and digital gaming, with his duties involving “oversight of Hasbro’s network of gaming studios and digital licensing agreements” as well as leading strategy for both Magic: The Gathering and Dungeons & Dragons’ IPs.

The press release calls Hight’s addition to the c-suite “a significant step in Hasbro’s strategic focus on digital experiences and video games” and a part of Hasbro’s push for “continued global growth for the division and uncovering new storytelling tabletop and digital experiences.” What any of this could mean for existing D&D MMORPGs, M:TG titles, or future games in either IP is anyone’s guess, but at least we can confirm where Hight ended up.
