New World testers killed almost 40M overland mobs during last weekend’s Aeternum beta

At the conclusion of New World’s Aeternum open beta earlier this week, Amazon promised a recap blog – and now on Friday, we finally have it. And it comes with a bunch of numbers! Do those numbers include the numbers you want to hear about, like how many people tested, how many people achieved the level-up goals, or how many people preordered?

No. But Amazon does say that Swordbearers were the most popular archetype, bows were the most popular weapons, Medea kicked everyone’s ass, players killed almost 40M overland baddies, and gamers completed over 10M quests, which actually does sort of give you an idea of how many people probably participated. Oh yeah, and 168 people tried and died on the Sandwurm. Awww.

The studio notes that players who leveled up will be getting their rewards come October 15th when Aeternum fully launches.
