Magic The Gathering Online delays events and tourney qualifications over tech issues

A nasty multi-day lag issue has forced Daybreak to remove a series of scheduled events from Magic: The Gathering Online through Tuesday, January 14th.

Lag issues were first reported this past Thursday and persisted on through last Friday as the devs tried to wrangle the issue. Unfortunately the problems were not solved in time, leading to the cancellation of events.

The events affected include the modern super qualifier originally set for this Sunday, January 12th, and the Modern Madness tournament scheduled for the following Monday; the super qualifier is now being moved to January 18th and the Modern Madness tourney is postponed indefinitely. Other events that were underway yesterday were also cancelled with refunds provided, though some events that kicked off a bit earlier were allowed to complete.

Due to ongoing issues, we have removed all scheduled events through Tue 1/14. Sun Modern SQ will be moved to Sat 1/18, Modern Madness will be postponedThank you for your patience & understanding as we work on this challenging situation. We will update once we have more details
