Betawatch: June 26th, 2015

Is there anything as marvelous as finding out that your game got so heavily exploited that the whole game needs to be wiped? If you’re playing Ark: Survival Evolved, let us know what that’s like. Fortunately for players, there’s now a bounty system in place for hacks and an official server for folks from the site, so that’s awesome.
Other stuff happened with testing this week, too! We were told about it, and it did in fact happen!
- The closed beta for Inspirit Online has started. When does it end? Nobody knows. But probably two to five weeks.
- If you were one of the people who knew that Salem was still technically in beta, well… it’s not any longer. Even technically. It’s officially launched, like, officially.
- Lineage Eternal started a distinctly non-eternal round of focus group testing.
- One final closed beta test for Skyforge is happening now, with plans to finalize the open beta after this test is concluded.
- Players looking to get in on beta testing The Division can sign up for that.
- Last but not least, World of Warships managed to kind of bungle its Humble Bundle entry with a promise that the items included in said bundle would carry over to open beta… only to promptly reverse that stance.
And yes, there are more games in testing, which we’ve linked down below. If you know of something else that’s in testing or swapped phases without us noticing, please, do let us know down in the comments if you would.
As always, we consider an MMO to be in open testing if it features free, public signups and will server wipe prior to launch. An MMO is marked in closed testing if it’s running a private test phase that cannot freely be accessed by the general public; it’s usually under NDA as well. Early access and crowdfunded MMOs whose tests we deem legitimate will be included. So-called “open beta” soft-launch MMOs with cash shops, no sign of launch in the west, or limited interest for our readers will not be listed.

ClassicCrime Esta a Korean company is the creator, so yes it is another Asian import. The first thing I saw was that forum picture, and my first thought was ‘Ouch-Hands look painful!’

http://www.estg.co.kr/ *Not much there, but it is the reference that it is indeed Korean.

groo the wanderer you can play both solo or on your own private server with just friends
Life is Feudal announced DX11 graphics update. Video link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DFwhaf1Tf8A&feature=youtu.be
I am very interested in Arc but I have heard its a grief fest . Anything you build is trashed by other players when you log offs and the pvp servers ( like all these games where there are no factions are a fragfest ) .
Out of interest on PVE servers can other player still destroy anything you make ? Or is it at all possible to set up a server where you just play it with a handful of friends .
I would love to play a dinosaur game but not one where the players are antisocial dick heads who if they cant attack you destroy anything you create while you are not online .
Line with more hugs Yup, one of the first things I thought after playing CBT4 was: “In a world where every other game is streamlining useless currencies, Skyforge makes the bold choice to have seventy billion.”
Line with more hugs
Well steal my thunder and call me a puma, I was going to say about the same things with the game. Although calling it even a “fake action” is stretching it more than the game deserves. It is a straight out tab-target. A player cannot attack/use actions without having an active target [who is also within range too]. The animations for the characters are out-of-the-park goofy and make not a lick of sense.
Played Skyforge with my friends, we didn’t last very long.
It’s not really terrible, it’s just… boring. It’s one of those “fake” action MMOs, where you can feel the tab target in your bones while playing. There is little cleave but a massive autotarget (it makes the ranged classes feel soooo floaty and unresponsive – that and the subpar sound design for them), the skills are few but interesting enough… if you didn’t have to spam them so often due to excessive HP pools… and you had control on all your skills instead of having a pop up for some.
The UI is also absolutely horrendous, they tried to make it look modern, why not, but can’t they just regroup the important info?! Maybe not since they have half a billion currencies (easy enough to udnerstand, but so incredibly useless to have done it like that) and upgrade systems.
And damn, can we get something else than lobby games where you grind the same instances again and again just to get the required level for the story?
Apparently it gets even mroe ridiculous at endgame, but I’m not going to bother.
Greaterdivinity I had the same take on it and quit for the same reason right now.
