Ark: Survival Evolved offers a bounty for hunting hacks

The developers behind Ark: Survival Evolved are rewarding players for hunting the most dangerous game. Considering this is a game wherein you hunt and tame dinosaurs, you know that has to be good. Developer Studio Wildcard is encouraging the community to keep its eyes open for hacks, exploits, bugs, and the like, offering a $100 bounty for finding things that could negatively impact the game environment.

Lest you think that this is as simple as saying you found something and then getting paid, the developers are looking for straightforward and detailed methods for reproducing specific hacks or exploits at will. If you can provide that, contact the developers, and after they examine the bug, then will ultimately pay you money. Money! So instead of hunting dinosaurs, you’re hunting violations of the world in which you hunt dinosaurs. That’s probably a bit more awesome.

Not seen anyone hacking on the servers I have been on.. but yeah have seen a few exploits but the devs have been pretty good with those and got them fixed.
This offer will help more and actually help make people test the game instead of just playing it :)

kgptzac private servers with a group of friends building, exploring, hunting and taming dinos…..is the best way forward.

CrowingOne Gibbins Playing on a couple different private servers with friends atm, I wouldn’t touch offical ones.  Latency wouldn’t even be a problem for combat I don’t think, but cave jumping could be tricky.

kgptzac Don’t bother with official servers or any kind.  Either play alone on local host or get a few friends and hire a private server for that “last survivors” felling.

Game is stunning and well worth it.  Honestly I haven’t seen such a good game come out of pretty much nowhere in terms of hype for a very long time.

CrowingOne Gibbins Bugger, I would have liked to have joined you but I am UK based and hate the extra latency to the US.

This method has worked for google and other companies, glad to see it being used for games now.

Love the game too, just wish it didnt perform like a fat puppy running through tar.

kgptzac stay away from official servers, private servers update WAAAAAAAAAAY faster. they might roll out 3-4 patches before they update official servers sometimes.

I think this is a great idea. As much as some people love to exploit and “win” at nothing…everyone likes to get paid real money. They’ve given a real incentive to be the first to report an exploit instead of try and be the first to put it on youtube.
