Ever, Jane touts new beginner experience

Ever, Jane is anticipating being a gateway for people who have never played video games or MMOs before, which is why the team has created a new beginner experience for its second closed beta patch.

By indicating that one is a complete newbie upon character creation, the player will be taken to a “special room” and then flogged. Wait, no. The player will actually be shown the ropes of how online games work.

The new patch also includes a remodel of Mrs. Hatch’s cottage and improvements to the story system (i.e., now you can actually finish previously bugged quests). The team is also working to restore sections of the forum and is preparing in-game events for the future.

“Oh Mr Darcy, we are alone together again!”
“Yeah no raid tonight. I mean, charmed Elizabeth, charmed as ever to be in your presence.”

You know without hunting parties this game wont really even scratch the surface of it’s subject matter.

melissaheather And maybe expend their color palette a little. Regency England was really quite colorful, at least for the upper classes.

Karl_Hungus Depends on your definition of “FFA PvP,” really.

melissaheather well I think I figured out who the face model was for their avatars –

melissaheather I have to agree. This is a game that really needs to spend the money on good-looking avatars and clothes.

if that’s how nice the avatars look, it’s going to fail.   They should hire one of the dozen excellent skin-makers in Second Life.   This game will be toast without strong cosmetics.

I’m only interested in this game if they turn it into a FFA PvP gankfest.

This was actually a game I was looking forward to dipping my toes in some day, but after a look at their rule set I now have it filed in the Roleplay Fascism category, the only game in that category that I am aware of. Devoted roleplayers should have a ball there though :)

One day when I am on my level Nobleman William Fitzdarcy wearing my raiding attire; silk kendall vest complete with scarlet silk puff tie and black brushed cotton trousers and matching lace up boots, I shall think fondly on those days when I was a beginner in the lands of Netherfield Park.
