Life is Feudal aims for late 2017 launch, hires on public relations firm

As Life is Feudal bears down toward its launch window of “late 2017,” it has a new ally to help with getting the word out about this medieval sandbox.

Bitbox Studio announced yesterday that it signed a deal with gaming public relations firm Reverb Communications to assist with the promotion of the MMO. This move should help the already-popular title to expand its audience and prime the MMORPG for a strong launch.

According to the press release, Reverb “will be managing media, streamer, and influencer outreach for the game.” Some of Reverb’s other clients include ARK and Escape from Tarkov. You don’t need a PR firm to get you excited, of course. Perhaps checking out these new screenshots might do the trick all on their own?

WoolyDub here. Is this game pretty cool? Besides owning Fractured because of backing Repopulation I haven’t played anything in this genre yet. Was thinking Conan but man that game is still super early so I wanna wait til it’s more fully formed. Would love to hear thoughts on this from someone who has played it.

I’m quite enjoying the Forest it seems to be a decent survival game .

Bionicall here. I have played Life is Feudal: Your Own, and looking at both the website and MJ’s stream they appear to be mostly the same (website quotes numbers and minigames as differences). The game is very cool in terms of being a true sandbox, but I would describe the current skill set-up as a ‘tangled mess’. From things that don’t make any sense (requiring 2 handed axe skill to use a crossbow??? seriously!) to downright painful (requiring 60 in 2 skills; hunting and animal lore, and a third at 30) to be able to sew a shabby tunic.

Qarran here. I’m going to say that for a while. Lol

Err… Ark is one of their clients? And that is a success story? Something to brag about?

Heh. I think I would look for other PR firms. lol

Many “survival sandbox” games right now, seems to be the most prolific trend. It makes me wonder. If games take a pretty long time to bring to life, what’s the risk of the genre or fad dying before you even launch?

I think LiF is very much it’s own game and thus isn’t as vulnerable to trends but seeing how survival sandbox is one of the most successful of all gaming genre to date I don’t see much to worry about yet.

…hiring a PR firm is like, publicly newsworthy news? >.>

Oh well, I think I got this in a bundle at some point, one day I’ll give it a spin.

It is when you are used to the Daybreak treatment. I’m good with the news. Lol

I got the Life is Feudal: Your Own, in a bundle a while back. It is different from the MMO (Your Own does not grant you access to the MMO as far as I am aware), but I know of no real difference in gameplay.

Yes Bevan owning a copy of the Your Own version grants you access to wave 2 in the beta of the MMO.

Actually, from reading steam, if you own YO, you can get into the beta (2 I believe) and you get the MMO –

Release!
Who is eligible: Everyone who has Life is Feudal: Your Own in their Steam library or who purchased supporter packs or who have acquired a ticket for their character in-game
