The Division stocks up on gas masks for next week’s event

Need a stylish gas mask to cover that thing on your neck that could be charitably called a mug? Jump in to The Division next week for its Ambush global event to earn a new mask while pulling the world out of an apocalyptic disaster.

It’s interesting that several outlets are starting to tout this two-year-old game as getting its second wind. PC Gamer said that the recent 1.8 update “made it worth playing again,” pointing to the numerous activities that players can enjoy at the endgame. “In broad terms, The Division is in the best position it’s ever been, and it’s well worth easily sinking triple-digit hours into it if loot-shooters intrigue you,” the outlet said.

Echoing these thoughts is YouTuber Cleanprincegaming, who made the case that The Division has made an incredible comeback in terms of its quality and content from its messy and unfocused launch. Perhaps it’s time to check back in with this multiplayer shooter in 2018?

I love this game. I hope they don’t do a Division 2 and instead do a huge expansion and build on this one, like open up another city or other type of environment.

It seems like a lot of people are coming back to play this game.

Makes me wish the devs would do a Quality of Life patch to the game, there are quite a few things that would improve the game for me without them actually having to add content or balance changes.

Things like putting an FoV slider into the video options
Allowing the group leader to set waypoints for ALL game content for the rest of the group
Allowing you to bind things properly to mouse buttons beyond the first 2.

just to name a couple.

Overhauling the UI for appearance gear, especially for consoles. Scrolling through a list of 80 jackets is just ridiculous. All of the appearance gear is broken down by type (bomber jacket/climbing jacket/windbreaker/etc) and color, so there’s no reason they can’t reflect that in the UI and actually group them in drop-down lists instead of just vomiting everything into one big pile.

YAY MORE GLOBAL EVENTS!

I love these, and especially with Destiny 2 being a shitshow and losing my interests to even do weekly milestones this is a welcome distraction. Looking forward to the new modifiers and more chances at exotics and classified gear.

It’s nice to have a solid looter-shooter around and kicking on PC as a fallback. Guess I need to try to wrap up Secret World this weekend and make some progress on ESO before I dump time into Division. Then back to ESO and hopefully some B&S!

If you have any real question about playing it for the first time or coming back, I’d really recommend SkillUp’s video on it. The guy makes excellent content.

PC Gamer and Windows re-review.

It seems (almost) everyone is doing an updated review of the game now.

Almost everyone. Almost.

Perhaps it’s time to check back in with this multiplayer shooter in 2018?

I think I got this game for free with a graphics card back around launch, but never installed it due to the launch issues and my dislike of cover-shooter mechanics. Lately, however, I’ve been jonesing to shoot something. Was thinking Defiance, but I already “finished” that game (sans the endless grind for perfect weapons) and know I wouldn’t last more than a week or two.

What do current players think of the Division? What’s its quality like compared to present-day Defiance?

I think it’s miles beyond Defiance, though I haven’t played that game in a few years now. But I never really thought much of it.

Yeah. After playing Defiance then going onto this, I think you’ll wonder why you wasted time not getting it, especially now since you can get a pretty huge bundle with all the DLC on sale.

The only similarity between Defiance and this is that there are humans with guns. Everything else is completely different.

No P2W (since no lockboxes with weapons or stat gear), no horrible lag or instability (used to be a thing a year ago though), no crappy, outdated graphics, probably three times the content available to do.

Basically, look at the video Ihatevnecks linked above.

That guy named SkillUp is to The Division what Dulfy is to SWTOR and Deltia is to Elder Scrolls Online. Simply one of the best reviewers/bloggers you will ever see for a particular game.

actually been playing this again recently in small bursts and not sure what everything that’s been added since i stopped acouple years ago is but the thing that strikes me th emost is how the cover controls differ so much from gtao which i find myslf using the gtao keybinds and screwing up lol.

anyways so far the loot i’ve gotten in what little gameplay i’ve done has been alot btter than when i previously quit.
