World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth adds 2 more character slots per server, 58 new mounts

Blizzard is doing nothing to stem your rampant altoholic nature these days, but instead the studio is downright encouraging it. With all of the new allied races currently in World of Warcraft and coming with Battle for Azeroth this summer, the pressure is on to roll up a few new alts. But what if you’ve already maxed out your server’s 16 character slots?

The good news is that the studio is increasing the capacity with the expansion to give you two additional slots: “In Battle For Azeroth, the per-realm character limit will be going up from 16 to 18 to make room for the two new Allied Races (Dark Iron Dwarves and Mag’har Orcs).”

And those new characters are going to need a fun way to get from Point A to Point B, naturally! They’ll certainly have a wide selection from which to choose, as Battle for Azeroth is adding around 60 new mounts to chase. Get a preview of all of these in the video after the break!

58 new mounts? As a confirmed mountoholic, that’s just cruel!

They raised the slot numbers per server but didn’t raise the cap on maximum characters per account.

The only way I would ever play Battle for Azeroth is if I have to buy it to play on the classic servers and If I am playing a month subscription that covers both .

Under those circumstances if I am paying for access to it anyway I may as well play it along side WoW classic .

This is how they are masking over the horrid class design in BFA, with stupid cosmetics and reskins of existing races. I guess this is what sells nowadays. This games is starting to feel like a generic Korean MMO more and more.

I think you are an expansion late? Only 1 or 2 specs are changing dramatically from how.they functioned in Legion.

Um, I’m playing beta at the moment, the classes feel worse than Legion. Sure the baseline stuff is the same, but without the Artifacts and Legos the classes feel pretty bad.

Also, Legion classes were boring too, so what I said, in my opnion, holds true for me.

The game is closer to an AARPG these days than MMO. For the most part the game has been streamlined into mediocrity. They just throwing mounts and new allied races at people in the hopes they won’t care, which is probably true since most of the people left playing the game are 1-2 hour ultra casual players that don’t really care about interesting class design.

Well yeah, if you hated them in Legion then you still hate them in BFA. That was my point, this is nothing new for BFA. Removing the artefacts doesn’t dramatically change the class design, and most key parts have been either made baseline or talents.

This makes me wish Mr. Schlag was working for Blizz designing mounts. <3

5,000,000 gold for a mount. Based on the current price of a WoW token, you could play for free for about two years for that much in-game gold – roughly US $200. Quite the gold sink.

I guess that’s the point. It’s a very desirable but not game breaking item (mobile AH) and will help filter out money from long term players.

not to mention given the size of it they don’t want 20 people with it standing on top of a mail box

Credit where credit’s due, the extra slots I half expected to be a perfect candidate for a paid unlock… nice to see that was not the case.

Mind you, the very idea would be insane for a sub-based title. And still I found myself totally expecting it from blizzard… speaks volumes on how the standard for expectations have sunk I suppose.
