Have you seen that new Star Citizen promo from Western Digital? It’s worth a look if you’re a fan of the upcoming space sim sandbox. The two-minute clip focuses mainly on Cloud Imperium boss Chris Roberts, and it features a lot of in-game footage, behind-the-scenes development footage, and interview snippets with Star Citizen devs including producer Travis Day and community director Ben Lesnick.

“I want to play a game and get lost in that world,” Roberts says. “But it’s hard to do that. It’s hard to get to that level but when it does, those are the great games.” Click past the cut to see the clip!

Have you lads mentioned Firefly yet? If not, allow me: Watch Firefly. Good acting, great writing, and more than just a “western in space”.
My opinion for the pile,

Darkwalker75 GoJammit Now that I no longer work for the cable company, my wife is trying to convince me to drop everything. I finally got around to putting a wireless adapter on the main tv and she has discovered netflix. It’s a losing battle for me.

Have to get my hands on that.
Never watch TV, I have no interest in watching TV, and I use my TV as a computer monitor only.
Watching any good movie or series on TV, only frustrates me to no end due to the need for having half of it filled with commercials(most of which are so dumb they should have been banned for being that dumb)
So if I find anything of interest like this, I try to find out where I can get it so I can watch it without interruptions.

Seems I can get the whole series on Amazon, so I’ll get that.
And its dirt cheap as well, only £45 on DVD and £50 on Blu-Ray, for the full 5 seasons.
Though there is one box set listed at an insane £212 if one likes to throw away money.

Darkwalker75 GoJammit Kind of trippy show. A team of scientists and law enforcement work together to try to solve really strange crimes caused by people affected by a tear between parallel universes.

And you’re right. It was kinda easy to go with the evil corp. I’m nover a big fan of time travel to begin with so maybe it’s good it ended. I think I would have gotten frustrated with it. Hardly ever done right.
I’m a new Doctor Who fan. Only been at it the past few seasons.

Don’t think I ever heard of Fringe, have to look into that.
Can you give a short description?

There was also Space Above and Beyond which I found decent enough, though been a long time since I felt like watching it.
I liked the concept of it, but something about it has put me off and I cant put my finger on what that is.
Another series that could have been good but was cut short as too many others.

As for  Terra nova.
I actually liked the idea of people having to  survive in a world with dinosaurs around.
In my opinion the mistake was not them traveling back to before the dinosaurs was wipes out.
What I didn’t like about it was the part with the 6’ers and them working for some shady group, government or military I think, from the future just looking to strip this new world of its resources for their own selfish benefits.

It felt so cliché like to me, it was too much of the classic bad guys vs  good guys, and has been done so many times that I frankly tire of it and would have liked to see something different.
Its not the concept of god vs evil in and of itself I tire of, but rather the way it was done, it felt far too predictable to me.

Oh I forgot to mention Doctor Who, that’s one I really like.
Got all season from when it restarted sometime around 2005 I think it was.

Darkwalker75 GoJammit Farscape! always thought of that as a modern day Buck rogers, another one of my old favorites. That was a show I never wanted to end. When it was done, I think I stopped watching the sci-fi channel. I think it was part of the Friday night block thta included the two Star Gate shows. Okay, but not enough to keep my attention.
Terra Nova was good. I think it needed more time to sink in for everyone else, but I was all in. I remember thinking that the show was doomed to failure since they made the mistake go going back to a time before the dinosaurs were wiped out by that comet. Haha!
I’m with you on BSG. It started off awesome and slowly declined with moments, at least one a season that reminded you of why you fel in love with it to begin with. Te dead Starbuck stuff got on my nerves and I found myself confused more often than not.
What did you think about Fringe? I know the space element was very small, but I found the show itself well done. I think it was another case of them working to hard to get to an ending and near the end it just wasn’t as  good as the beginning though.

Of those I know of and have watched, I would say Farscape.
There is also Terra Nova which unfortunately was cancelled, but I’m not sure if It can be categorized as Sci-fi.
BSG(the new series) was good in the first season, but after that I felt it became too much drama and jumping around between things.
That’s what I can think of off the top of my head, I have to dig a little into my movies archive to find out if there are any more recent, but I don’t have access to my archives right now.

I have indulged myself in a 3 day vacation as I got a little extra time off work because someone crashed the car I use at work, funny thing is the person using the car crashed it when trying to avoid an accident.
I’ll be home again tomorrow though, so will try to remember to look into it.

Just watched the intro trailer on YouTube. Two things I noticed 1) the laser sound effect from V (which is still one of my favorites), and the announcer was the same guy that did V. I wonder if this guy did anything else but intro mini series for Disney/ABC.
Speaking of which, V was my shit when I was a kid. And not that aborting of a series either. Even as a kid I was angry with the way they screwed it up. Just the 5 movies and as much as it will make Kenneth Johnson cry, mainly the Final Battle series.
