As we all know, cool guys don’t look at explosions (they blow things up and just walk away). This is true as few things in life are. We also are all aware that fireworks are just particularly small and colorful explosions which are at least ostensibly under the control of operators. Thus, we can conclude that it’s more cool to go to a fireworks show and then not look at those boring explosions for even a minute.
I suppose not going at all would be a faster and cheaper solution, but this way you can specifically not look at the explosions, then explain why you’re not looking while trying not to sound like some kind of detonation hipster. And… actually, now that I type all of that out, it seems like it might be easier to just check out our entries for this week’s entry of What Are You Playing along with some of our Patrons, then let us know what you’re up to in the comments. Seriously, that makes you automatically cool.
Brianna Royce (@nbrianna, blog): I’ll probably try to score some login time with Marvel Heroes. I’ve got to get my free (insert whatever MH is giving away this time).
Eliot Lefebvre (@Eliot_Lefebvre, blog): There are options other than Final Fantasy XIV right now? Why would you do that to yourself?
Jef Reahard (@jefreahard): I’m still playing ARK: Survival Evolved and some single-player stuff. I resubbed to Star Wars: The Old Republic, too, because Star Wars makes me throw money at things even if I dislike them.
Justin Olivetti (@Sypster, blog): I didn’t get as much WildStar time this past week as I would have liked, so I’m going to be gunning to get some adventures in there. I also have an itch to get some Trove in with the upcoming launch and all, so that’s getting reinstalled on my machine.
Larry Everett (@Shaddoe, blog): I do want to finish up leveling my Jedi Guardian in Star Wars: The Old Republic, but at the same time, I don’t want to burn myself out before the expansion hits. Then of course, I have my raid on Sunday that I will be livestreaming on my Twitch channel at about 7 p.m. EDT. I also downloaded DC Universe Online again. I have no idea why, but I love going back to that game every once in a while just to play through some of the beginning levels.
Pierre: Hello Massively Overpowered readers! Sorry for not contributing to WRUP these last weeks, but I’ve been away from home and gaming during the month of June. Thus, I have a lot of catching up to do; I have to check this new Final Fantasy XIV expansion I just bought, and I hear it’s a good one. That’s all for MMOs this weekend, but I’ve been playing old adventure games for a few weeks now and I’m going through the Dracula trilogy I bought on GOG. I have finished the first episode (it was average at best), and I just started the second (it seems better).
KythasWraith: I thought about telling all of you I would play something other than Heavensward this weekend, but I realized I would be lying. Between having a Machinist to level and grabbing the item level 170 gear and the upgrade items for it from hunts, I will be busy. On Tuesday we should be getting the new Alexander raid (barring any catastrophes) and I want to be ready. I should probably wait until I’m home playing with my new 4K display and dual 980Ti cards with functional internet, but a man can dream.
Jagmas (@jagmas, blog): While I am still very satisfied with playing Ark: Survival Evolved (as my sleep deprived body can attest to) there’s a couple of games I may spend some time on during the holiday weekend. Up first would be World of Warships which is sailing into open beta and should be even more fun now that everyone can give it a try. And even though I am not the biggest PVP fan, thanks to Bwana on Twitch the second game I really want to play this weekend is Albion Online because there seems to be a lot more going on than in game just PVP. I just have to pony up for the founder’s pack!
Lisa/Liandreth:Â I’ll be playing ARK, if the kidlet lets me. Still trying to amass my army of dodos. May or may not log into World of Warcraft. Working on my dailies with hubs to open up flying in Draenor.
Your turn!
