Make My MMO: Pantheon’s seed financing (October 3, 2015)

Make My MMO

This week in MMO crowdfunding news, fans of Brad McQuaid’s Pantheon fantasy MMO got some good news. It seems as if Visionary Realms has raised a round of seed financing that will allow development to continue beyond what’s already been accomplished by a team of volunteers. Pre-alpha is currently scheduled for later this year with beta testing slated for 2016.

The rest of this week’s crowdfunding news roundup can be found after the cut.

So many funded and so few launched. I wonder if in a year or two suddenly a digital deluge will pour down on us. Maybe that day will come all these projects we’ve been funded will start to complete like dominoes. I’d like that better than a drought where games face eternal development.

There is a John DeLorean joke to be made there, but it would have been better if VR had announced it on the 19th since that would have been the 33th anniversary of DeLorean’s arrest.
