Now you can breed baby dinos in ARK

11

Studio Wildcard has pushed the first pass of breeding and baby dinosaurs into its live build of ARK: Survival Evolved. Players may pair off two members of the same species and after Mother Nature works her magic, they’ll have a baby dino with a random selection of traits from both parents along with “a degree of arbitrary mutation.”

The devs hope to see “some hardcore survivors progressively raising generations of dinosaurs that have more refined collections of high-end traits than that which could ever be found in the wild,” though the update post cautions that such a process will require a lot of effort.

Quincha On the forum they showed a direwolf pup (mammals are coming later) that looks like a wolf pup, not a tiny wolf. To me, the raptor baby does look like it has a disproportionate head size to its body.

<ring ring ring>
“Hello Bree, its MJ umm sorry i wont be able to make it into work to day”
“and why would that be?” asks Bree
“um
well my Tyrannosaurus have just had a baby, Its just hatched so I now
have a new hatchling in the family. You know how hard it is to get child
… um hatchling care at short notice.  It should only be for today”
MJ replies.
“Oh ok then, good luck and I hope everything goes
well”  <Bree replaces telephone>  Bree thinks to herself if I
had
that conversation with anyone else but MJ I be making a call to the
psychiatric hospital and advising them of a pick up they need to make.
(hehe all is good fun)  :-)

melissaheather ANd honestly, PvE can be even more annoying. People can fuck with you still, and there is nothing to be done. Pillar spam(placing pillars to block out building in an area) is ruinous to PvE servers. Think of  a landscape where every 30 feet is a wood pillar sticking out of the ground making it impossible to build.

melissaheather YOu can also private server with specific PVP rules, since my tribe started up on a Private PvP server, there was but 1 enounter in 2 weeks. ITs sure to ramp up now as more are gettig into late game, but no one razes a whole base just to make rebuild or kills all your dinos.

I think PvP, on some level, is what really makes the game shine. It adds a whole new, uncontrollable dynamic.

Zipzopzippitybop YES!!!
Since, Junes EA launch, I slowly convinced 4 core members of my WOW raid Team to play, It killed our WoW raiding. Its all any one wants to do. If you have an decent online community, there is nothing that comes close as far as team work goes.

melissaheather well even on a pve server people will mess with your stuff. After so many days your buildings and such become destructible.
