Perfect World’s Arc platform now offers its own daily quests

Perfect World’s Arc platform is getting a big facelift, which is good news for anyone confused by the old layout and navigation, but the intriguing bit is that the platform is getting a daily quest system with rewards that can apply to any MMORPG under PWE’s umbrella.

“When you log into the Arc client, you will be presented with an option to view your daily quests by clicking the Arc Quests button on the bottom of the client. Each day, a fresh new set of quests will be available for you to complete. These can be anything from playing a game for a certain amount of days to visiting the blogs, Twitter and Facebook pages for one of the games on the Arc platform. If you aren’t planning on finishing one of the quests, you can replace one quest immediately per day by canceling the quest on the top-right of the quest card.”

Finishing quests in the Arc login screen grants you experience along your Arc Quests level; every level up will grant you 500 Arc points you can convert into ZEN or other game currencies.

Now that’s meta.

hardy83 Don’t use Steam at all – I just don’t care for third party bloatware. VMMV.

Lets lure you in with more ways to stroke the reward system section of the brain, then get you hooked on lock-boxes and getting you to just shovel us piles of money while we sit and laugh at you and your addictions!

Sorenthaz That was my first thought, too. I don’t play any PWE games but if Blizzard had something like that in the B.net launcher I’d hit it. Probably a tougher sell when only half your games are F2P, though.

It reminds me of some Steam event a few years back that saw me installing F2P games like Rusty Hearts and Spiral Knights to get some daily rewards.

Armsman I think the real reason to quit STO would be the ground combat and character animations that make you feel like you are playing something from the 90’s. And I say this with having bought a lifetime sub to the game, with over 11,000 Points in the store available to me. The space combat is great, they really nailed it, but the ground combat…..damn…

mvpeets Armsman Common practice to complain about companies having their own launch software.

Apparently to some, Steam is the only acceptable program that can run in the background or even run at all, even though programs like Arc, Glyph and others are FAR less annoying than Steam when it comes to pop ups and the option menus tend to be a less cleaner and easier to navigate.

Zariarn Armsman Yeah its pretty dumb when you install Arc you get the option if you want it to run in the background and at startup. All you have to do is read the dang options instead of just clicking next.

Armsman It’s not that big a deal unless you have a crap computer…..and I mean real crap.  The overhead isn’t bad.  Dumping a game just because of a minor launcher dislike is rather….lame.
