The Daily Grind: Have you ever wished that supplementary lore were represented in an MMO?

Darn it.

I do not care about Hearthstone. Odds are I’m never going to; I got over my CCG phase ages ago with actual cards, and while I have a great deal of respect for the games, I’m not really into that particular style of play at this point. But there’s some stuff in that game that I’d love to see ported back into World of Warcraft; both the whole Explorer’s League and Mean Streets of Gadgetzan have additions and expansions to the lore that just scream to get baked back into WoW proper. Heck, one of the latter’s crime syndicates is made for Monks!

This is a frequent problem I have with Blizzard, but it’s hardly the only one out there. Funcom obligingly tied The Park to The Secret World, which I appreciate, but often spin-off games and associated fiction lead us to having interesting content suggested for an MMO that never actually makes it into the MMO itself. So what about you, dear readers? Have you ever wished that supplementary lore were represented in an MMO? Either lore that comes from other, connected games, or just from various bits of fiction and artwork?

Every morning, the Massively Overpowered writers team up with mascot Mo to ask MMORPG players pointed questions about the massively multiplayer online roleplaying genre. Grab a mug of your preferred beverage and take a stab at answering the question posed in today’s Daily Grind!
