Hope you didn’t have any plans for the next week, because depending on where you were standing in Fortnite, you either have been pulverized by a crash-landing comet or are in the thick of the brand-new Season Four.
That’s right: The highly anticipated comet has smacked down into the game, making a nice crater in Dusty Depot, throwing gravity into question, and leaving… something behind. Patch 4.0 not only starts the new season but also introduces a movie-themed quest chain, anti-gravity rocks, an 100-tier battle pass, and enemies that drop building materials, ammo, and schematics.
In other news, the infamous Orange Shirt Kid has his 15 minutes of fame as Fortnite added his boogie dance as one of the tier rewards.
Check out the full patch notes over at the site and the launch trailer after the break!
PUBG best alternative game fortnite facing these crashes but i found an article on some top tech site here: https://igeeksradar.com/fix-fortnite-mobile-not-loading-crashing-jailbreak/ it’s fixed my fornite crashing and lot of other issues. I guess its gonna help you all also. Thanks.
I hear the meteor actually destroyed PUBG.
I just logged in and collected all my new loot, and holy cow, were they generous. Probably took me 30 minutes to open all the loot llamas and decide whether to recycle, book, or keep everything.
I’m not sure how many new zombie types they added, but I found two last night. So far I’m liking the changes and additions. They really aren’t slacking on the STW side of the game.
Their world survived a comet impact? Must have been a really puny comet. When the comet hit in Asheron’s Call the entire world was destroyed.
Oh hell yes. Also some of the new heroes for the llama sound great, aaaand several llamas got their prices reduces as well.
Overall sounds like a really good patch and they really dialed up the generosity in lieu of Battle Royale’s success.
That seems like a really lame copout to nuke Dusty Depot instead of the most problematic area in the game, i.e. Tilted Towers. Tilted Towers is way too dense with loot and whatnot to where practically half of the 100 players in a match will dive there, which greatly screws with the gameflow because if you drop basically anywhere else you know that you likely won’t run into very many folks. It makes it so that if you want to try and get high kill games and have regular action, you pretty much have to drop over in that chaotic clustertruck of racing to grab weapons and hoping you don’t get blasted from multiple angles. People drop like flies within a minute and it feels like the game needs to have better dispersal of loot so that Tilted Towers isn’t attracting everyone and their toddlers.
Also to be clear, the movie quest chain and stuff is for Save the World (thankfully; I got worried for a moment when I thought they’d try to hamfist PvE elements into BR). Sounds like some good/fun stuff worth checking out, and I’m glad they’ve finally started toying with loot drops off of enemies because that needed to be a thing ages ago.
Don’t disagree with your opinion on Tilted. But I do like that it gives newbies a chance to play a little while if they at least are smart enough to drop elsewhere.
Meh, Dusty Depot was an easy pick for Epic.
True. Tilted Towers makes for a good learning spot actually because you’re throwing yourself into the wolves and thus if you want to learn how to play aggressive or get better mechanically at the game then dropping there is a good way to get more used to the combat etc.

This made me smile! I don’t play Fortnite, so I didn’t know about this before today. I linked to the background story and to watch the videos. Truly made my morning. Cool thing for the devs to do.
Be sure to clarify that the new enemies and quest line are in STW not BR mode.
