Lord of the Rings Online readies its next progression server unlock

For the past couple of months, Standing Stone Games hasn’t spoken much on the status and future of Lord of the Rings Online’s progression servers (to be fair, the studio doesn’t talk much about its games in public these days period). But a short dev post on the forums confirmed that the next step for these “legendary” shards are still on track for a March release.

The post said that Moria and Lothlorien — the first unlock for the servers following their November launch — will be coming in “Q1 March-ish” and cover all content up through the new level cap of 60. And yes, before you ask, the skirmish system is going to be included here.

SSG didn’t address player queries about any gear stat balacing or the controversial presence of essence armor but did say that PvMP is not on the table for Moria or any foreseeable future.

I’m not ready yet! I have too many alts and my main is only 43. Ugh. I need to find a good kin on Ithil I guess to get caught up.

While I loved just being in Middle Earth, PvMP is what I did with 90% of my time. Without it in the “any foreseeable future” I’m, and everyone I still know from back then, aren’t interested.

But I’ve only got one character to 50! Admittedly it’s a captain, whose preferred method of killing things is to wait for them to die of old age, but still.

I loved Captain too, but yes he is a slow killer, lol

Will this expansion be as faceroll easy as the first? you could be a drooling idiot and win in that game. Have never played a MMO so god awful boring easy. People slam WoW for being easy? LOTRO is by far the easiest mmo in the market. Not to mention its just a mediocre WoW clone. If it wasnt Lord of the Rings IP, it would have been dead years ago.

Are you talking about Legendary servers? Because Lotro on cap is quite hard and obviously not the easiest MMORPG.

He’s got to be trolling , there is no other explanation for someone thinking killing mobs in WoW is more challenging than it is in lotro.

If you are saying questing is more challenging in WoW than lotro then you really have no grip on reality whatsoever .

Never heard such a load of old rubbish in my life .

Its probably one of the people the who play the first 15-20 levels of a game and thinks the rest is same. I am sure its not intensional but many people judge from the early experience and usually early experience HAS to be easy so people get introduced to a game

Maybe so but try playing WoW in its first 15-20 levels and compare the number of attacks it takes to kill a mob to lotro and even then there is no comparison . In WoW its 4 hits maximum even on the weaker classes and most of the time a mob of the same level as you usually goes down in two to three hits . Lotro you would be probably be able to do it in 4-8 hits at a comparative level .

The only thing I can think of is Dafuq hasn’t played WoW in over a decade or more .

Back when I played murloks were noob killers(for actually new players) – other than that, all was easy, lol

I agree, playing LOTRO as Beoring or Warden is extremely easy to the point of boredom, especially for people not interested in group content. Doesn’t matter if your character is lvl10 or 50. You are NEVER in any danger even when taking on few mobs above your lvl, unless you’re an idiot. Legendary servers did nothing to change that.

Really? “For the past couple of months”? When the servers were only announced, and have been open for a couple of months? I expected better.
