Dang, it’s been a while since we covered Uncharted Waters Online – the last we poked our heads in, it was finally rolling out to Steam. But this week, Papaya Play is launching a new update for the “grand seafaring sandbox MMORPG.” I’m not even making fun of them for calling it that. I love seeing an MMORPG take the title on with such pride. Anyway, the update’s called Lost Memories.
“The epic seafaring open-world MMORPG’s adventures continue with the release of Episode Lost Memories, introducing new game contents and features for both new and veteran players to enjoy. In Episode Wonder Seekers players can experience different story paths based on their Home Nation. Players will encounter Mina, a woman from the Holy Roman Empire, on her search for a legendary island that is said to be unreachable even with a map to it. This encounter incites each of the major Western nations – Spain, Portugal, Venice, France, Netherlands, England, and the Ottoman Empire – to also search for the island and its rumored treasures.”
The company is also talking up the Seas of Wonders, “a mysterious world where players can explore it like a dungeon with their ship.” The idea is you head in to explore ruins and artifacts, then trade your findings for better stuff or craft rare ship parts. Neat!
