Fallout 76’s bumps STASH size by 50%, improves inventory features

The first Fallout 76 patch of the year is coming on January 26th, and while it won’t be a groundbreaking content dump, it will impact all players by improving their inventory.

The STASH is getting increased from 800 to 1200 pounds, the Pipboy is getting three new tabs (New, Armor, and Food/Drink) to help sort goods, and the inventory will finally show the full weight of a stack of items rather than just the weight of an individual object. Another fun change is the ability to preview player vendor inventories through the map screen.

Bethesda also is making a change to the outline color of CAMP object placement to help those with colorblindness and bumped up the rewards from daily ops excellence.

Fallout 76 is running a double XP event through January 25th.

THAT is a wholly positive improvement and I applaud it. Four or five more times should do it :)

Still not enough of a change. I’ll wait for fallout 5, or the promised offline mode and mod support.

Someday I’ll actually finish the story in Fallout 4. :/

Probably best if you don’t. I love Fallout games but (and without story spoilers) 4’s story past a certain point is disappointing largely because it messes up all the faction related relationships you have formed before that point and pretty much forces you JUST to side with one single faction even though many of them aren’t even at odds with each other then pretty much pits the rest against you. Its pretty nonsensical.

It kind of ruins the whole joy of the rest of that wonderful game.

Maybe. But I wanted to finish Far Harbor with Nick, and I just enjoy wandering around with Ada or Widget. (Widget is my custom robot from the Automotron DLC.)

Spoiler
Widget is a mix of Robobrain and Assaultron parts with upgrades from the DLC. You get a single Robobrain head as part of the story, and the story in my head is that the Sole Survivor couldn’t bring herself to just destroy it. But after meeting Jezebel, she also couldn’t risk turning a robobrain loose again. So she built a new body, and keeps Widget close enough to keep an eye on her and step in before things get out of hand.

I predict it will be approximately three days before everyone’s Stash is full again. Good changes, though.
