The Daily Grind: How long do you wait to give an MMO a second chance?

I’m a big believer in second chances with MMORPGs, because so many of my personal favorites weren’t favorites right out of the game. In fact, some of them I downright disliked because they didn’t click with me instantly or they were in a sad state at launch.

So I feel it’s always a good idea to come back to a game that gave you a poor first impression and see if it’s worth another evaluation. Right now, I’m giving New World a little bit of breathing time to settle down from all of the post-launch insanity before returning. I felt that four or five months allows for enough space to come back fresh for a second look.

How long do you wait to give an MMO a second chance — if it gets one from you at all?

Every morning, the Massively Overpowered writers team up with mascot Mo to ask MMORPG players pointed questions about the massively multiplayer online roleplaying genre. Grab a mug of your preferred beverage and take a stab at answering the question posed in today’s Daily Grind!
