WRUP: Choose Your Own Adventure: Who drove your car into the ravine edition

It's a car.

Your mom: If your mom drove your car into the ravine, the car then explodes because she’s secretly an android sent by the evil spy organization H.A.R.M. to infiltrate your home, but she malfunctioned out of love for you! That’s right, your powerful charisma convinced the robot to spare you! You are Jack Chestbeef, Agent of F.R.E.E.! Wednesdays at 9 on some station or another in 1974 who cares any more.

R&B performer Brandy Norwood: Huh. Her real name is Norwood? I never knew that. You know for a long time I thought the whole Moesha thing was, like, that whole Hannah Montana double identity gig? I don’t know why. “Have you ever loved somebody so much you jackknifed their car straight into a ravine…”

Your cousin: Your cousin was fleeing her evil ex, your name is Sasha Fairweather, and this is the start of a Lifetime original movie. Starring DICK MANHOUSE as JACK CHESTBEEF, the MANLY AGENT who’s NOT HITTING WOMEN!

Jack Chestbeef: Cool. What Are You Playing?

PS: Choose in the comments too.

PPS: I like ham.

PPPS: Reginald.

Bonus question: What IP would you really like to see have a crossover event with an MMO of your choice?

Andrew Ross (@dengarsw): Pokemon Go will certainly see some action due to calories gained this week. Orna will see a bit too, but party games like the new DLC for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Mario Party Superstars will happen with friends for sure, possibly family as well.

The bonus question’s a toughy. Most serious MMOs shouldn’t do crossovers in my opinion. I’m big on immersion when I’m at my PC, and a bit at my console. But mobile MMOs are more snacky in my opinion, and thus are better for crossovers. POGO mixed with Monster Hunter raids would be fun as heck. The two series already visually mix well, and with spinoffs, kind of thematically now. But that may be a lot of money, so maybe Orna could do something with Earthbound/Mother as the latter, as Nintendo has yet to shut down any fan projects (rumor has it that the creator, Shigesato Itoi, holds enough rights to allow this) and generally seems to be permissible. The art style’s similar enough, and the low/vague lore makes it feel like maybe a few sprites could make an appearance in the game at the least. Plus, Odie’s an Earthbound fan so maybe he’d be cool with it.

Brianna Royce (@nbrianna, blog): Guild Wars 2 and Star Wars Galaxies Legends for me. Got some more End of Dragons cleanup to do in the former, and in the latter… well I had almost 400 sale emails when I logged in, and some of my vendors were flat out of some basics, so I clearly need a big restock.

None of them. Please no tacky immersion-breaking crossovers in-game! I’d much rather have the game pulled into the real world. Like, I actually would’ve gone to a Hardees hunting for the End of Dragons cups if we had any around here.

Chris Neal (@wolfyseyes, blog): In addition to some of my usual dips into Lost Ark, I’m primarily going to make my way up the ranks in Monster Hunter Rise in preparation for the Sunbreak expansion’s launch, climb ever closer to level cap in Star Trek Online, and try out BeamNG.drive since someone has released multiplayer mod for it.

I can’t really say that there is a crossover that I want in the games I play, but I will admit that, for the most part, the goofier the better. I did see someone make the main character from Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origins in Final Fantasy XIV and that made me chuckle, so why not introduce that vat of bubbling cheese into Eorzea? It’s not like inter-Final Fantasy crossovers don’t have a precedent.

Eliot Lefebvre (@Eliot_Lefebvre, blog): Got a game for review, so between that and a bit of FFXIV I should be set for the weekend. I expect to be taking a bunch of naps with my cats, frankly. It’s what they do for most of the day, why shouldn’t I?

To be quite honest I’m still sad we’ve never gotten the flip side of that FFXIV crossover with Phantasy Star Online 2. I want more weirdly futuristic gear! You know, other than the Ironworks and Scaevan stuff.

Sam Kash (@thesamkash): Not a lot of RPGs for me this weekend. I finally got back into Guild Wars 2 but I still need to finish the last part of the Saga. I was glad to play though another couple of missions though.

Bonus: Let’s get an Avatar: The Last Airbender crossover in something. I don’t know where it would fit but if it showed up in an MMO I’d have to check it out.

Every Saturday, join the Massively OP community and staff for What Are You Playing, our roundup of what MMORPGs and other games we’re hoping to play this weekend (with a bonus question or two for our amusement). Tell us what you’re up to! Go off-topic! And don’t forget to have fun!
