The ESA is no longer working with ReedPop for the theoretical next E3 event

Oh good.

Well, if you were dreading the possibility of E3 coming back in 2024 under ReedPop’s direction, you no longer have to worry about that. The ESA has stated that ReedPop and the ESA are no longer working together, despite having inked a multi-year deal together just this year involving E3. And if there is an E3 2024, it won’t be taking place at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Readers with non-goldfish memories will remember that E3 2023 was supposed to take place at that venue with ReedPop organizing it, but that failed to get off the ground.

Of course, what has not been in any way indicated is what the theoretical show will include or how it will deal with the ongoing trend that all of the big publishers and platforms have their own shows outside of E3 altogether. That’s still sort of the open question, especially since this year’s E3 was canned in no small part because no major exhibitors wanted to commit. But E3 2024, sure. It won’t be like 2023 and 2022 and 2021. Right?
