As the saying goes, the real endgame for MMORPGs is fashion wars. Everyone loves looking their best through creative wardrobe selections, after all. If I’m having a bad day or stuck in a rut in a game, I’ll usually dedicate an entire session to creating new outfit looks to cheer me up. It never ceases to amaze me how a great ensemble makes me want to play a character.
Of course, not all cosmetic systems and transmog are created equal. Now that we’ve seen all sorts of permutations and approaches to cosmetic wardrobes, we have a wealth of data to arrive at the scientifically perfect system. Or at least one that appeases you, personally.
If you were designing the absolute perfect MMO cosmetic wardrobe feature, what would you put in it? How would it function, and would it be monetized at all? And does such a system already exist in an MMO?
