When Amazon launched the Rise of the Angry Earth expansion for New World at the top of October, the large influx of new and returning players led to the inevitable bloating of the server list. But now that it’s over, it’s time for the cycle to finish out, as Amazon is now targeting several servers for merges, which it says was always the plan.
“To improve the player experience, we’ll be consolidating several game worlds which were created during the launch of New World: Rise of the Angry Earth,” the company announced last night. “These worlds were made with the intent of handling the sudden influx of new and returning players to Aeternum and would return back to the aether once they were no longer required.”
Nine servers are merging into seven others spread across five regions; in fact, character creation on the nine sunset worlds ends today with server up. The big day is actually Monday, November 27th, when Amazon says “all characters & companies on retiring worlds will automatically be moved to their new home world.”
