The Daily Grind: What is your favorite piece of MMO memorabilia?

Tales of loss, and fire, and faith.

Square-Enix always offers some swag to media when we do our preview tour of the next Final Fantasy XIV expansion, but the Endwalker one was special. Because at the time the whole thing was remote, the company sent a care package with some very nice items, and my favorite of the batch was a little hovering moon lamp that has the Endwalker logo on it. It’s a very cool little keepsake that sits just to my left and seems to be so rare I’ve never even seen one up for sale. I love it.

I’m always happy for the weird bits of memorabilia that I’ve collected over the course of the years working on this job, but part of me is also sad that some of the older games I used to cover are ones where I do not have vintage collectibles from the game. I definitely do not have the original World of Warcraft collector’s edition, for example (which I didn’t really want, but it’s a status symbol). So what about you? What’s your favorite piece of MMO memorabilia, whether official or just personally important?

Every morning, the Massively Overpowered writers team up with mascot Mo to ask MMORPG players pointed questions about the massively multiplayer online roleplaying genre. Grab a mug of your preferred beverage and take a stab at answering the question posed in today’s Daily Grind!
