ARK Survival Ascended is launching a streamlined way to get player-made items in February and April

Mod support is already a thing in ARK: Survival Ascended, but the survival sandbox is bringing a little bit more streamlining to the custom player experience when it launches the custom cosmetic system starting later this week.

This feature, which effectively lets player-created cosmetics for things like dinos, structures, and clothing dynamically arrive to their game, will be launching in two phases: Phase one will arrive on February 1st and require users to manually install these items, while phase two will introduce the option to automatically download them in the background when encountered during gameplay on April 1st.

Studio Wildcard already has a few of these newly player-made items ready to go for the update, which include a glass pane that can be made into a one-way window, a party lamp post that can blink between two different colors, and a table that lets two people enjoy a game of Tic Tac Toe. The game’s latest newsletter highlights these items in animated GIF form.
