Some Lost Ark servers were down nearly two days for merge issues, but everything’s back up now

It’s finally over, at least until the next round of merges this summer: Lost Ark is now fully back online after nearly two days of downtime for some servers.

Amazon’s plan was to take down the remaining merging servers Wednesday and have them back up around 16 hours later – not an inconsiderable feat given that this process involved a total of 57 servers over two weeks. But on Wednesday, the studio admitted that a lot more time was needed, extending the process “up to 27 hours from its original start time” for the US West region, which had the most merging to do. And while most of the servers did return to service late that evening, affected US West shards were still down Thursday morning too. And Thursday afternoon. And Thursday evening. In fact, US West didn’t make it back online until 11 p.m. EST last night, when we imagine an exhausted CM finally told Discord the good news:

Amazon has promised even more compensation for US West players on top of the earlier promised compensation, so you’re about to be swimming in freebies in exchange for all that downtime. And it’s back to boot.
