Leaderboard: Are you going to buy a Nintendo Switch 2 (or whatever it’s called)?

Rumors about a follow-up device to Nintendo’s massively popular Switch console have been swirling for literally years now, with the hype mounting in recent months. And this morning, Nintendo’s Shuntaro Furukawa just went ahead and poured gasoline on the fire. Just before end of business in Japan today – which is to say, 3 a.m. EDT – he tweeted what is essentially a confirmation that the console is happening and will be announced within the next fiscal year, though not at the June Nintendo Direct showcase.

“This is Furukawa, President of Nintendo. We will make an announcement about the successor to Nintendo Switch within this fiscal year. It will have been over nine years since we announced the existence of Nintendo Switch back in March 2015. We will be holding a Nintendo Direct this June regarding the Nintendo Switch software lineup for the latter half of 2024, but please be aware that there will be no mention of the Nintendo Switch successor during that presentation.”

Do note that the fiscal year in Japan – and Nintendo’s specifically – runs April to March, so it really does mean sometime within the next 10 months or so.

But today, we’re curious about whether you’re actually thinking about buying one. I don’t actually play on mine all that much, personally – I’m a PC MMORPG person, after all – but I’ll still buy one for my kids and screw around on it, which is pretty much how I used my original Switch. That, and so much Just Dance.

How about you? Will you buy a Nintendo Switch 2? (You can pick up to three answers.)
