An indie MMORPG developer is asking for help to test out a brand-new title that’s still in its early days. This would be Homestead Online, a sandbox title that’s batting around some controversial design elements such as permadeath, consequence-free PvP, and player characters persisting in the game world even when the user logs out of the game.

The sole dev, who’s been working on this game in the evenings and weekends, has spent over seven months working on Homestead to get the framework for the title in place. With the alpha server online, the dev is asking for testers to participate in a “server bash” to see how many connections can be sustained.

“There’s always work to be done on the homestead. Homestead Online is an open world sandbox MMORPG. Players will recruit local adventurers, harvest rare materials, refine raw goods, construct equipment, develop, and defend their territory. Gameplayer features open-world construction, idle unit progression, online play, and player-vs-player combat.”
