It’s been five years in the making, but quirky MMO Dofus is on the cusp of switching over game engines from Flash to Unity. To prepare for that, Ankama is running a beta for the Unity port, which is starting today and continuing for “several months” until the official changeover happens later this year.
“Over the past few years, our team has been focused on quality-of-life improvements and technical advances, both essential elements that aren’t necessarily the most visible to the community,” said the devs. “We’ve worked hard to create interesting content and enrich your in-game experience while also making progress on porting Dofus to Unity. It’s been a challenging effort, but all that hard work is about to pay off.”
All players who have a Dofus subscription are welcome to test out the client through the official launcher. The beta will take place over three phases, culminating in a “free loot” period from October onward.
