Soulframe releases a flashy gameplay teaser trailer from its preludes build at Gamescom

Soulframe is currently in its “preludes” phase – the five-dollar term Digital Extremes uses to refer to a test build – and it looks as if those tests are mighty pretty indeed as evidenced by its latest gameplay trailer, which was delivered during Tencent’s Level Infinite showcase yesterday.

The video itself doesn’t really provide too much context as it shows off various vistas, what look like some cutscenes, and a few gameplay moments of characters using plenty of impressive abilities. It also doesn’t provide information, with no timelines for wider testing, early access, or launch; it just beseeches players to sign up on the website to “reserve their envoy name” ahead of time.

Our own MJ found during her visit to TennoCon 2024 that preludes are opening up to more sign-ups and that Digital Extremes is angling for more public testing sometime in the fall, so there may be more actual details to come soon. Until then, we can all enjoy some flashy trailer eye candy narrated by the world’s thickest Scottish accent below.
