When medieval sandbox MMORPG Anvil Empires greatly expanded its in-development world map into several landmasses this past August, it created a new problem for the MMO: There’s no easy way for players to get across the ocean. No way, that is, until recently when Siege Camp offered testers cargo ships that haul characters and their mounts to unexplored lands.
“The cargo ship is being introduced, which is capable of carrying personnel and equipment across water. The cargo ship carries up to eight passengers and two vehicles, including horses, carts, and caravans. This enables armies to setup camps to conquer enemies across the sea,” the studio explained, going on to say that the ships get a speed boost if the weather and wind are cooperating.
Cargo ships aren’t the only project that the team is tackling as of late. Improvements are being made to the underground realms, including a “significant pass” to visuals and lighting, mines that occasionally cave in, and new models and materials.
