No matter how you look at it, this is a devastating time for Cryptic fans as mass layoffs are effectively dissolving the once-prominent MMO studio. However, not all is lost, as some team members for Neverwinter and Star Trek Online remain.

In fact, Neverwinter’s devs put together a letter to reassure players that the MMO has a future: “We want to take a moment to reassure you that we are still fully committed to the ongoing development of Neverwinter and are excited about what lies ahead. While recent changes within our team have been challenging, we want to emphasize that these adjustments have not affected our production schedule or the quality of content you can expect.”

The devs pointed to the imminent arrival of Module 30 as well as the in-production Modules 31 and 32 as signs that work continues on the title. Details about the long-range plans, including the debut of adventures in east Faerûn, are coming “early next year.”
