Apparently, there were a lot of people who were interested in digital versions of real-world rap artists hosting pre-animated performances of their songs in Fortnite. An in-game finale event to close out the Remix season last weekend brought in record-setting numbers for the shooter’s in-game concert events.
The concert, which featured Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Ice Spice, and Juice WRLD, had plenty of eyes on it, with over 14M concurrent players in-game and an estimated 3M people watching the event via livestreams. For context, the in-game Travis Scott concert drew in over 12M players.
“This is a new Fortnite all-time record for an in-game concert,” Epic Games tweeted. “You. Showed. Up.”
With the Remix season now officially over, Fortnite BR has moved to Chapter 6 Season 1, aka Hunters. This new season dresses the island in Japanese style with similarly themed weapons and items, adds two new demonic bosses, introduces expertise quests, expands traversal with some parkour moves, and makes several original guns hitscan weapons.
You. Showed. Up.
More than 14 million concurrent players partied up for Remix: The Finale and more than 3 million estimated people streamed it online. This is a new Fortnite all-time record for an in-game concert – thank you! 🦋
