One of the truly horrifying and sad events over the holidays happened when a South Korean airline crashed upon landing in Muan, killing 179 people on board. As the country mourns this calamity, Pearl Abyss announced that Black Desert will be delaying its customary start-of-year celebrations and news out of respect for the situation.

“As many of you may have heard, a tragic accident occurred in Korea on December 29th. Our hearts go out to all those affected,” the studio said. “In light of this tragedy, the Korean government has designated a seven-day period of mourning, lasting until January 4th, 2025. To honor this, we have decided to postpone the scheduled New Year community events and greetings video.”

Pearl Abyss said that it will “revisit those plans” once the mourning period is complete. MassivelyOP joins this studio in expressing shared sorrow for this loss of life.

Do note that PA did released a 1GB patch for the global PC version this morning, with new Calamity tiers, new methods for acquiring Masses of Pure Magic, and a balance pass on the Deadeye specifically. The Deadeye is also now available as a trial character.
