If you’re concerned that Blizzard is going to regurgitate the Garrosh storyline with the recently genocidal Sylvanas, well, you’re part of a very large group of worried World of Warcraft citizens. You also may be in the wrong group, as the studio has promised that the Dark Lady’s storyline will go in a different direction.
“The Sylvanas burning of the tree was maybe a low moment for the Horde,” said the studio, “and the Saurfang piece was maybe a high moment, but those are just the first couple of drum beats of a very long story that we’re telling in Battle for Azeroth. We’re super excited with where it’s going to go, and I can just say that we’re not going to do to Sylvanas what happened with Garrosh.”
Blizzard will be fielding its first Battle for Azeroth post-launch developer Q&A tomorrow, and this topic will sure to be among the many brought to the team members. In the meantime, players are hard at work uncovering the ultra-secret Hivemind questline and listening to the soundtrack (which is available, among other places, on Spotify).
